There are 3 ways to keep your email organized with Todoist:

- Forward emails to Todoist (Premium-only)
- Use a 3rd-party integration
Download the Todoist plugin for Gmail and access all your tasks right from inside your Gmail account.
You’ll be able to quickly turn emails into tasks that link right back to the original email so you won’t have to hunt for it later. Just open the email you want to turn into a task and click on the Todoist button that appears at the top of your Gmail inbox. Then add a due date so you won’t forget to follow up.
Download the Todoist plugin for Outlook and access all your tasks right from inside your Outlook account.
You’ll be able to quickly turn emails into tasks that link right back to the original email so you won’t have to hunt for it later. From your Outlook inbox, select the email you want to turn into a task. Then click on the Todoist button that appears at the top of the screen. Then add a due date so you won’t forget to follow up.
Note: Unfortunately, we don’t have a plugin for Outlook for Mac yet.
Forwarding emails to Todoist
No matter what email client you use, you can forward emails to Todoist as both tasks and comments (this is a Premium feature).
Forwarding to projects
You can turn emails into Todoist tasks by forwarding them to a project. The subject line will become the task name, and the body of the email will be added as a comment. All attachments smaller than 25MB will also be attached.
To get a project’s email address:
- Open the project you want to email to.
- Click on the [tool icon] project actions icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Email tasks to this project.
- Click Copy to clipboard next to the email address provided.
- Start forwarding your emails to that address.
You can also add due dates, labels, and priority levels right from your email client.
Include <date your due date> in either the subject or the body of the email. (You need to include the word date before typing in your due date.) You can use all of Todoist's supported due date formats like <date every day>.
Include your labels (e.g. @work or @email) in either the subject or body of the email.
Include p1, p2, or p3 in either subject or body of the email.
Forwarding to comments
You can also forward emails to Todoist as comments. Perfect for when you need to attach information to existing tasks or projects.
- Click on the comments icon of the task or project you want to forward your email to.
- Click on the email icon.
- Begin forwarding your email to the address you’re given.
3rd-party email integrations
