When working on something that requires more than a single task, a project is the best way to get organized. Here's how to create a new project:
- Click the Projects tab on the left in Todoist.
- Scroll to the bottom of your project list.
- Click Add project.
- Type out the name of the project.
- Click the silver circle to the left of your project name to change its color.
- Click Add Project to create the project.
- (Optional) You can then drag and drop your project to a new place on your project list, or turn your project into a sub-project.
- Tap the menu icon in the top left in Todoist.
- Tap Projects.
- Scroll to the bottom of your project list and tap Manage projects.
- Tap + Add project.
- Type out the name of your new project.
- Select a color for your project from the color drop-down.
- (Optional) To make your new project a sub-project, tap the Parent field and select the project you want your new project to be nested under.
- (Optional) To share your new project with someone else, tap Add collaborators.
- When you’re finished, tap the send icon to create the project.
- Open the left-hand navigation menu in Todoist.
- Scroll to the bottom of your project list.
- Tap Add Project.
- Type out the name of the project.
- To give your project a color, tap the Color field.
- (Optional) To share your new project with someone else, tap Add collaborators.
- (Optional) To make your new project a sub-project, tap the Parent field and select the project you want your new project to be nested under.
- When you’re finished, tap Done in the top right to create the project.
- Click the Projects tab on the left in Todoist.
- Scroll to the bottom of your project list.
- Click + Add project.
- In the right-side panel, type out the name of the project.
- To give your project a color, click on Project Color.
- To share your new project with someone else, click + Add people.
- Click Save.
When creating a project, you can’t use @, #, +, and = in the project title. The only special characters allowed in project names are ., _, and -.
