Use Todoist Home Screen widgets on the iPhone

If your device is running iOS 14 or above, you'll be able to add widgets to your Home Screen.

Add a Home Screen widget

  1. Touch and hold anywhere on your Home Screen until your apps start to wiggle.
  2. Tap the Add button on the top-left.
  3. Scroll down and tap the Todoist icon.
  4. A menu will open where you can swipe to choose the widget you want to add — Tasks, Productivity, or Add Task:
    1. Tasks widget: Available as a small, medium, or large widget. This widget gives you a compact overview of all tasks in a certain view, like Today or Upcoming, or a project, filter, or label.

      Quick tip

On iOS 17, you can complete tasks directly from the medium and large Tasks widget!

    2. Once you’ve added the Tasks widget to your screen, long-press the widget. A context menu will pop up.
    3. Tap Edit Widget.
    4. Tap View.
    5. Select the view you want from the menu that pops up. If you select Project, Label, or Filter, you’ll be asked to specify which project, label, or filter you want as your view.
    6. Once you’re done customizing the widget, tap the screen outside the widget to save.
  5. Productivity widget: Available as a medium widget. This widget gives you an overview of your current productivity stats, like how close you are to reaching your daily or weekly goals, as well as your current Karma score.
  6. Add Task widget: Available as a small widget. This widget lets you open Quick Add from your iOS Home Screen, so you can quickly add a new task to Todoist.
    1. Once you’ve added the Add Task widget to your screen, long-press the widget. A context menu will pop up.
    2. Tap Edit Widget.
    3. You can now set the task name, project and section, due date, priority level, and/or label for any task you create with the widget.
